Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

Important HST and Fee Update: I’m thrilled to share that bill C-59, advocating for the removal of HST on psychotherapy for Registered Psychotherapists, has been passed and can now be implemented! I will be linking the removal of HST with a slight fee increase for sessions, while also ensuring a benefit to clients. Please note the updated fees when booking, and reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Stuff happens, I totally get it! Unfortunately though, when you cancel within the 24-hr window or don’t show up to your appointment, it means another client could have benefited from this time that was reserved just for you. So please note, any appointments cancelled with less than 24-hrs notice will be charged in full for the reserved time slot. Thank you for your understanding 💛

If you are in crisis: please call 911, Good2Talk (1-866-925-5454), Mental Health Helpline (1-866-531-2600), Crisis Services Canada (1-833-456-4566), or go to your local hospital emergency room.

My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based practices individualized to each client’s unique needs, goals and preferences. My primary therapeutic modalities include Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Family Systems Theory, and Attachment. My approach is informed by feminist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, queer and trans affirming perspectives.

In our work together, I can support you with managing mood/anxiety symptoms, facing difficult feelings, making sense of identity changes and life transitions, mourning, grief and loss, and working through relationship challenges. The specific topics we process in therapy are unique to each person and are collaboratively identified as we explore what brings you to therapy.

I offer both traditional talk therapy as well as art therapy, depending on your needs and interests. Art therapy is a branch of psychotherapy that supports clients in expressing and processing their thoughts, feelings and experiences through making art. Finding new or creative ways to express yourself can help reframe experiences, externalize and organize thoughts and feelings, and gain new insights. The process of making art can also, in itself, be calming and grounding. During sessions, I can guide and support you in exploring art materials or provide prompts that allow you to explore an idea or aspect of yourself in a new way. You don't have to have any particular skill level or even previous experience making art in order to benefit from this approach. The important thing is to have an openness to the creative process, since the focus in art therapy is on the process of making art and what it personally means to you, and not how the artwork looks at the end.

Regardless of which modality (talk or art therapy) you choose to engage in, I strive to provide an atmosphere in which you feel welcomed, heard and valued in each session.
